Section 24-1-27 Powers and duties of authority. (a) An authority shall constitute a public
body and a body corporate and politic exercising public powers, and having all the powers
necessary or convenient to carry out and effectuate the purposes and provisions of this article,
including the following powers in addition to others granted in this article: (1) To investigate
into living, dwelling and housing conditions and into the means and methods of improving such
conditions. (2) To determine where unsafe or unsanitary dwelling, public school or housing
conditions exist. (3) To study and make recommendations concerning the plan of any city located

Section 45-37A-56.30 Operation or leasing of parking facilities. (a) As used in this section,
the word person means a natural person, a corporation, a partnership, or unincorporated association.
(b) It is hereby declared to be the public policy of this state, with respect to each parking
facility, that upon an authority's acquiring a parking facility the authority shall carefully
consider and decide, whether it is in the public interest that the authority itself operate

Section 11-50A-9 Issuance of bonds; prerequisites; procedure; provisions; execution; bond resolution
covenants. (a) The authority shall, prior to the adoption by the board of a resolution authorizing
the issuance of any bonds, enter into one or more contracts with two or more municipalities
which are authorized to contract with the authority pursuant to Section 11-50A-17. Any resolution
of the board authorizing the issuance of bonds may authorize those bonds to be issued in more
than one series, and the issuance of each series of bonds so authorized by that resolution
need not be preceded by the entering into by the authority of additional contracts pursuant
to Section 11-50A-17. (b) The board may by resolution or resolutions authorize the issuance

Section 24-1-61 Definitions. The following terms, wherever used or referred to in this article
shall have the following respective meaning, unless a different meaning clearly appears from
the context: (1) AUTHORITY or HOUSING AUTHORITY. A public body organized as a body corporate
