Section 33-2-180 Definitions. Where used in this article the following words and terms shall be given the following respective meanings unless the context hereof clearly indicates otherwise: (1) CODE. The Code of Alabama 1975, as amended. (2) DEPARTMENT. Alabama State Docks Department created in Chapter 1 of Title 33. (3) DIRECTOR. The Director of State Docks provided for in Section 33-1-3. (a) Property is presumed abandoned if it is unclaimed by the apparent owner during the time set forth below for the particular property: (1) Traveler's checks, 15 years after issuance. (2) Money order, five years after issuance. Section 40-14B-6 Qualified investments. (a) To continue to be certified, a certified capital company shall make qualified investments according to the following schedule: (1) Before the third anniversary of its allocation date, a company must have made qualified investments in an amount cumulatively equal to at least 35 percent of its certified capital. (2) Before the fifth anniversary of its allocation date, a company must have made qualified investments in an amount cumulatively equal to at least 50 percent of its certified capital. Section 5-2A-3 Superintendent - Qualifications, appointment and term of office; filling of vacancies. The State Banking Department shall be in the charge of the superintendent, who shall be the chief executive officer of the department.
