Section 41-10-181 Authority as state agency; control over Blakeley site, historic park, etc.; promulgation, alteration, etc., of rules and regulations concerning preservation, etc., of Blakeley historic site; penalty for violation of rules or regulations; police powers of authority members; designation of deputy police officers. (a) The authority shall be a state agency, and shall have exclusive control over the Blakeley site, the historic park, recreational areas, all improvements and exhibits located thereon, and any additions constructed, created, leased, acquired or erected in connection therewith. (a) Whenever, on the basis of any information, the department determines that any person is in violation of any requirement of this chapter, any rule or regulation promulgated by the department or any permit issued under authority granted by this chapter, the department may issue an order requiring compliance immediately or within a specified time period, and, in cases where an imminent threat to human health or the environment is demonstrated, suspend operations causing such threat until the department determines that adequate steps are being taken to correct such violations.
