Section 40-9B-4 Authorization of abatement. Section 40-9C-3 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings: (1) ABATE, ABATEMENT. A reduction or elimination of a taxpayer's liability for tax. Section 11-32-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall mean the following unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) AD VALOREM TAX. (a) In addition to all other appropriations and apportionments of public school money now provided by law and made available for public schools there shall be apportioned and paid to local boards of education from the Foundation Program Fund, the amounts to be determined as hereinafter provided and in accordance with regulations of the State Board of Education.
