Section 11-94-1 Definitions. Whenever used in this chapter, unless the context plainly indicates otherwise, the present term shall include the future term, the singular shall include the plural, the plural shall include the singular, the masculine shall include the feminine, and the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) AUTHORITY. A nonprofit public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (2) AUTHORIZING SUBDIVISION. Section 26-2A-152 Powers of conservator in administration. (a) Subject to limitation provided in Section 26-2A-154, a conservator shall have all of the powers conferred in this section and any additional powers now or hereafter conferred by law on trustees in this state. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation.
