Section 40-10-21 Certificates of purchase - Assignments. The certificate of purchase delivered by the tax collector to the purchaser at such sale or to the state in case the state is the purchaser is assignable in writing or by endorsement, and if the state is the purchaser such assignment shall be made by the Land Commissioner upon the payment of the amount bid by the state, with interest thereon at the rate of 12 percent per annum from the date of sale to the date of assignment, plus all taxes due on said lands since the date of sale, with interest thereon at 12 percent from date of maturity. Such assignment shall vest in the assignee and his legal representatives all the right and title of the original purchaser or of the state in case the state is a purchaser. Section 40-18-23 Taxpayers engaged in multistate business - Option of certain taxpayers to report and pay tax on basis of percentage of volume. Any taxpayer who has taxable income from business activities both within and without this state, whose only business activities within this state consist of sales and do not include owning or renting real estate or tangible personal property, and whose dollar volume of gross sales made during the tax year within this state is not in excess of $100,000 may elect to report and pay any income tax due on the basis of a percentage of such volume. Section 40-7-19 Demand against persons failing to make returns. After December 31 in each year, the assessor shall in person or by deputy make a demand upon all taxpayers who have failed to make return to him for a list of their taxable property, and such demand may be made by written notice left with the taxpayer at his residence or place of business, or sent postpaid by certified or registered mail, with return receipt demanded, to the taxpayer's last known place of residence, and it shall be the duty of such taxpayer to return such list to the assessor on or before the third Monday in January following. Any official who is eligible to participate in the supernumerary program provided by this chapter, and who is participating or eligible to participate in any other state or county retirement program, shall elect whether he or she shall participate in the supernumerary program or in the other retirement program.
