Section 40-29-70 Non-payable checks, money orders, or electronic funds. If any check, money order, or electronic funds in payment of any amount receivable for payment of taxes under any provision of law is not duly paid, in addition to any other penalties provided by law, there shall be paid as a penalty by the person who tendered such check, money order, or electronic funds, upon notice and demand by the commissioner, or his or her delegate, or other taxing authority, in the same manner as tax, an amount equal to 10 percent of the amount of such check, money order, or electronic funds, except that if the amount of such check, money order, or electronic funds is less than five hundred dollars ($500), the penalty under this section shall be ten dollars ($10) or the amount of such check, money order, or electronic funds, whichever is the lesser. Section 5-18A-13 Duties of licensee. (a) A licensee may not knowingly enter into a deferred presentment transaction with a customer that has outstanding deferred presentment transactions from any lender at any location that exceeds five hundred dollars ($500) for the term of the loan. (b) Before a licensee shall present for payment or deposit a check or debit authorization accepted by the licensee, the check shall be endorsed with the actual name under which the licensee is doing business. Section 12-19-311 Bail bond fees. (a)(1) In addition to all other charges, costs, taxes, or fees levied by law on bail bonds, additional fees as detailed in paragraph a. and paragraph b. shall be imposed on every bail bond in all courts of this state. The fee shall not be assessed in traffic cases, except for those serious traffic offenses enumerated in Title 32, Chapter 5A, Article 9. Where multiple charges arise out of the same incident, the bond fee pursuant to this section shall only be assessed on one charge.
