Section 41-10-541 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this division, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) APPROPRIATED FUNDS. Net TVA payments to the extent such payments are pledged and appropriated to the authority pursuant to Section 41-10-550. (2) AUTHORITY. The public corporation organized pursuant to this division. (b) A person who retired from the position of municipal police officer, deputy sheriff, or other position that required certification by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission, the commission, and who retired in good standing may be employed as a part-time school resource officer by Etowah County or by a municipality or local school district in Etowah County in accordance with this section.
