Section 37-15-10.1 Underground Damage Prevention Authority. (a) The Underground Damage Prevention
Authority is created for the purpose of enforcing this chapter and for reviewing penalty provisions
and the adequacy of the enforcement process. It is the intent of the Legislature that the
authority and its enforcement activities not be funded by appropriations from the state budget.
(b) The authority shall utilize the services of the Alabama Public Service Commission to provide
administrative support for the authority, subject to the concurrence by the authority board.
The Public Service Commission shall charge the expenses associated with the administrative
duties of the authority back to the authority, subject to the concurrence of the authority

generally for termination of agencies not designated; committee's right to review and make

Section 22-5A-6 Procedures for resolving complaints. (a) A community ombudsman's access to
any health care facility shall be limited to standard operating hours unless prior arrangements
with the operator of the facility has been made. If the complaint involves more than one provider
or alleges to involve more than one provider, the ombudsman shall investigate all providers.
(b) Any complaint requiring remedial action and deemed valid by the ombudsman shall be identified
and brought to the attention of the administrator or provider involved and followed up in
writing within a reasonable time. Upon receipt of such document, the administrator or provider,
in coordination with the ombudsman, shall establish a course of appropriate remedial action.
If the remedial action is not forthcoming within a reasonable time, the ombudsman must refer
