Section 45-39-245.41 Authorization of levy of sales tax. (a) The governing body of the
county is hereby authorized to levy and impose in the county, in addition to all other taxes
of every kind now imposed by law, and to collect as herein provided, a privilege or license
tax upon every person, firm, or corporation, including the State of Alabama and its Alcoholic
Beverage Control Board in the sale of alcoholic beverages of all kinds, the University of
Alabama, Auburn University, and all other institutions of higher learning in the state, whether
such institutions be denominational, state, county, or municipal institutions, and any association
or other agency or instrumentality of any such institution, that is both of the following:
(1) Engaged or continuing within the county in the business of selling at retail any tangible
personal property whatsoever, including merchandise and commodities of every kind and character,

Section 5-18-3 Definitions. The following terms, when used in this chapter, shall have
the following meanings, unless the context clearly requires a different meaning. The meaning
ascribed to the singular form shall apply also to the plural. (1) PERSON. Such term shall
include individuals, copartnerships, associations, trusts, corporations and any other legal
entities. (2) LICENSE. A license, issued under the authority of this chapter, to make loans

Section 5-26-4 License and registration required. (1) In general. An individual, unless
specifically exempted from this chapter under subsection (2), shall not engage in the business
of a mortgage loan originator with respect to any dwelling located in this state without first
obtaining and maintaining annually a license under this chapter. Each licensed mortgage loan
originator must register with and maintain a valid unique identifier issued by the Nationwide
Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. (2) Exemption from this chapter. The following are
exempt from and are not subject to this chapter: (a) Registered mortgage loan originators,
loan processors, loss mitigation specialists, and other employees when acting for an entity

Section 9-6-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter and

Section 11-65-10 Powers and duties of commission. When authorized by one or more elections
as provided in Section 11-65-4, a commission shall have the powers and duties necessary
to license, regulate, and supervise horse racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon and greyhound
racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon within the commission municipal jurisdiction, including,

Section 11-65-5 Composition of commission; terms; qualifications; removal from office.
(a) Every commission shall have five members, which shall constitute its governing body. All
powers of a commission shall be exercised by its members or pursuant to their authorization.
The mayor or other chief executive officer of the sponsoring municipality and the president
or other designated presiding officer of the county commission of the host county shall each

Section 16-16B-10 (Implementation Conditioned on Separate Legislative Enactment.) Disposition
of funds. Notwithstanding any of the foregoing and in addition to all powers heretofore granted

Section 2-27-12 Sampling and inspection. (a) The commissioner or his agent is authorized
to enter upon any public or private premise or carrier at reasonable times during regular
business hours in the performance of his duties relating to pesticides, devices and records
pertaining to same. It shall be a violation of the penalty provisions of this article for
any person to refuse to allow such entrance for sampling and inspection purposes. (b) The
commissioner or his agent is authorized and directed to sample, test, inspect and make analyses
of pesticides sold or offered for sale or distributed within this state, at a time and place
and to such an extent as he may deem necessary to determine whether such pesticides are in
compliance with the provisions of this article. (c) The official analysis shall be made from
