Section 40-25-40 Definitions. For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them in this section: (1) PERSON. Any individual, firm, company, partnership, association, corporation, receiver or trustee, or any other group or combination acting as a unit, and the plural as well as the singular number. Section 45-44-245 Definitions; levy of tax; permit; fees. (a) When used in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) PERSON. Any individual, firm, partnership, corporation, association, or combination who, for a fee, severs clay, sand, or gravel within Macon County. (2) PRODUCER. Any person engaging in the business of severing clay, sand, or gravel for a fee from the soil within Macon County. (3) SEVERING. No person shall within this state engage in the commission business as a commission merchant without a permit therefor. Every commission merchant shall annually, on or before October 1, file an application with the commissioner for a permit to do a commission business in farm products.
