Section 45-12-130 Qualifications; duties. The county commission shall employ a county engineer, who shall be a qualified and competent civil engineer, possessing all of the qualities as specified for county engineers pursuant to law. The county engineer shall devote his or her time and attention to the maintenance and construction of the public roads, highways, and bridges of the county, the county shop, and all work otherwise authorized by law. (a) All municipalities shall have the following powers: (1) To license any exhibition, trade, business, vocation, occupation, or profession not prohibited by the Constitution or laws of the state which may be engaged in or carried on in the municipality. (a) The commissioner may conduct examinations of warrantors, administrators, or other persons to enforce this chapter and protect warranty holders in this state.
