Section 34-1A-5 Licenses - Issuance; fees; suspension or revocation; nonresident license; display; written service contracts; confidential information. (a) The board shall issue licenses authorized by this chapter to all qualified individuals in accordance with rules or regulations established by the board. (a) A person may not engage in business as a pawnbroker unless the person has a valid license authorizing engagement in the business. A separate license is required for each place of business. The supervisor may issue more than one license to a person if that person complies with this chapter for each license. (a) Effective January 1, 1998, it shall be unlawful for any person or business entity to engage in a business regulated by this chapter in this state without a current valid license or in violation of this chapter and applicable rules and regulations of the board.
