Section 11-48-48 Payment of assessments generally. The municipality, in ordering any local
improvement the cost of which or any part thereof is to be assessed against any property in
accordance with the provisions of this article, may provide that the same shall be paid in
cash within 30 days after the final assessment, provided the cost of such improvement does
not exceed $1,000.00, but if the total cost of said improvement is greater than such sum,
any property owner may, at his election, to be expressed by notifying the municipal official
charged with the duty of collecting such assessments in writing within 30 days after the assessment
is made final, pay the said assessment in 10 equal installments, which shall bear interest
at a rate not exceeding 12 percent per annum, payable annually; provided, however, that if,

Section 40-12-255 Manufactured homes. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation who owns, maintains
or keeps in this state a manufactured home as defined according to subsection (n) of this
section, except a manufactured home that constitutes a part of the inventory of a manufacturer

Section 40-9-60 Certificates of exemption for persons or companies exempt from sales, use,
and lodging taxes. (a) All persons or companies, including, but not limited to, those cited
in this chapter, other than governmental entities, which have statutory exemption from the
payment of Alabama sales and use taxes levied in, including, but not limited to, Chapter 23
of this title, or lodgings taxes levied in Chapter 26 of this title, regardless of the type
of transaction or whether the tangible personal property is subject to sales and use tax or
whether the accommodations are subject to lodgings tax, shall be required to annually obtain
a certificate of exemption from the Department of Revenue. This requirement does not supersede

Section 40-23-192 Simplified Sellers Use Tax Remittance Program. (a) There is hereby established
The Simplified Sellers Use Tax Remittance Program designed to allow an eligible seller who
participates in the program to collect, report, and remit the simplified sellers use tax authorized
herein in lieu of the sales or use taxes otherwise due by or on behalf of Alabama customers
who have purchased items from the eligible seller that were shipped or otherwise delivered
into Alabama by the eligible seller. Participation in the program shall be by election of
the eligible seller and only those eligible sellers accepted into the program as set out herein
shall collect and remit the simplified sellers use tax. Participation in the program shall

Section 40-25-9 Procedure when goods are confiscated. In all cases of seizure of any goods,
wares, merchandise, or other property hereafter made as being subject to forfeiture under
provisions of this article: (1) The officer or person making the seizure shall cause a list

Section 45-36-248 Levy of tax; collection and disposition of proceeds; violations. (a) This
section shall apply only to Jackson County. (b) As used in this section, sales and use tax
