Section 40-17-223 Distribution of tax proceeds derived from lubricating oil. All revenues received
or collected by the Department of Revenue upon the selling, use or consumption, distributing,
storing, or withdrawing from storage in this state of lubricating oil remaining after the
payment of the expense of administration and enforcement of this article are hereby allocated
and appropriated in the following manner: (1) Forty-five percent of the net tax proceeds is
hereby allocated and appropriated for state highway purposes and as the state's share of the
net tax proceeds to be covered into the State Treasury to the credit of the Public Road and
Bridge Fund and disbursed as provided in this article. (2) Fifty-five percent of the net tax

Section 40-7-66 Consultations with county governing bodies and tax assessors; determination
of system of appraisal; general schedule for completion of appraisal to be established. The
Department of Revenue shall consult and advise with the governing bodies and tax assessors
as to its findings in each county and, after consultation, determine the chosen system of
appraisal to be put into effect without delay in order that the assessments for ad valorem

Section 40-12-7 County license tax for school purposes - Disposition of funds collected; charge
for collection and administration. (a) All such taxes collected and administered by the Department
of Revenue shall be collected and remitted to the governing bodies of the various counties
in the manner as provided for the collection and administration of taxes for cities or towns

Section 45-27-244.35 Certificate of assessment; issuance of license tag; valuation; municipal
taxes. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation residing in or owning a motor vehicle which
is principally used in Escambia County who desires to operate a motor vehicle on the public
highways of Alabama shall first return the motor vehicle for ad valorem taxation and sales
taxation to the tax collector. The tax collector shall issue a certificate of assessment on
a form prescribed by the State Department of Revenue, shall collect the tax as shown thereon,
and shall make a duplicate of the tax receipt and keep the receipt on file in the office of
the tax collector for one year after each audit. The license tag shall be evidence of the

a debt due the counties subject to this subpart, and may be collected by civil suit brought
within three years after the tax has become due and payable. The judge of probate, license
