Section 40-12-253 Ad valorem taxation of motor vehicles. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees. (1) Ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall become due and payable on the first day of the registration renewal month of the owner, the date the motor vehicle enters the State of Alabama, the date the motor vehicle is removed from the inventory of a dealer, or the date on which the motor vehicle is otherwise determined to be taxable, whichever comes first. Section 45-49A-63 Definitions. As used in this part, the following words and terms shall have meanings as follows: (1) ANNUITY STARTING DATE. The first day for which a benefit is payable as an annuity or any other form under Section 45-49A-63.80. (2) BENEFICIARY. Section 11-41-2 Notice of filing; determination of statutory compliance; objections; ordering and notice of election; contest of election. (a) Upon the filing of the verified application with the judge of probate, the judge of probate shall give notice of the filing of the application by publication in one or more newspapers published in the county, if there are any, that an application to the judge of probate has been submitted and that the judge of probate will determine if the application complies with Section 11-41-1, and that further notice will be given for the filing of any objections.
