Section 11-92C-13 Exemption from taxation. (a) Any authority formed under this chapter, a cooperative district of which the authority is a constituent member, the sales, property, and income of the authority or cooperative district, whether used by it or leased to others, all bonds issued by the authority or cooperative district, the income from the bonds or from other sources, the interest and other profits from the bonds inuring to and received by the holders thereof, conveyances by and to the authority or cooperative district of which the authority is a member, and leases, mortgages, and deeds of trust by and to the authority or the cooperative district are exempt from all taxation in the state, inclusive of any ad valorem taxes or lodgings taxes imposed by the State of Alabama, a municipality, or county. (a) The Legislature finds that the number of students attending the several school systems located in those areas of North Alabama that will be directly impacted by the 2005 BRAC and Subsequent BRAC Actions will collectively increase by an estimated 9,000 students. As a result, there will be a need for the construction of additional school facilities as well as the renovation of existing school facilities. The Legislature also finds that the 2005 BRAC and Subsequent BRAC Actions will have a positive impact on future receipts to the Education Trust Fund, as the significant population growth in North Alabama will increase sales, income, and other tax collections. Section 27-44-9 Assessments. (a) For the purpose of providing the funds necessary to carry out the powers and duties of the association, the board of directors shall assess the member insurers, separately for each account, at such time and for such amounts as the board finds necessary.
