Section 40-18-24.3 Taxation on distributive share of interest, dividends, etc., of nonresident member of qualified investment partnership. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter to the contrary, including Sections 40-18-2 and 40-18-24.2, no income tax shall be due the State of Alabama from a nonresident member of a qualified investment partnership, or from the qualified investment partnership itself, with respect to the nonresident member's distributive share of interest, dividends, distributions, or gains and losses from qualifying investment securities owned by the entity, as long as the nonresident member does not actively participate in the day-to-day management of the entity. Section 10A-1-8.01 Conversion of business and nonprofit entities. (a) A conversion of an entity may be accomplished as provided in this section: (1) CORPORATIONS. a. Section 37-11C-4 Allowance and claim of tax credits; Railroad Rehabilitation Income Tax Credit Account; written transfer agreements. (a) For tax years beginning after December 31, 2019, there is a credit allowed against the state income tax levied by Section 40-18-2 equal to 50 percent of an eligible taxpayer's qualified railroad rehabilitation expenditures. The tax credit allowed under this section may not exceed three thousand five hundred dollars ($3,500) multiplied by the number of miles of railroad track owned or leased within the state by the eligible taxpayer at the close of the taxable year.
