Section 40-14A-33 (Repealed for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2002.) Definition of initial taxable shares base. (a) Determine the sum of the following as of the first day of the corporation's taxable year: (1) The outstanding capital stock and any additional paid-in capital, but without reduction for treasury stock; and (2) Retained earnings, but not less than zero, which shall include any amounts designated for the payment of dividends until the amounts are definitely and irrevocably placed to the credit of stockholders subject to withdrawal on demand. (a) A self-help business improvement district ordinance shall provide that the special assessment levied on the owners of the real property located within the geographical area of the district shall be collected by the district management corporation. Section 16-6D-8 Tax credits; Failing Schools Income Tax Credit Account. (a) To provide educational flexibility and state accountability for students in failing schools: (1) For tax years beginning on and after January 1, 2013, an Alabama income tax credit is made available to the parent of a student enrolled in or assigned to attend a failing school to help offset the cost of transferring the student to a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school of the parent's choice.
