The Alabama Department of Education shall promulgate and adopt rules regarding the methods, procedures, and standards it deems necessary for approving employer provided or employer sponsored basic skills education programs. Section 25-5-290 Ombudsman program, creation; purpose; members; notification of service; benefit review conferences. (a) The Department of Industrial Relations shall establish an Ombudsman Program to assist injured or disabled employees, persons claiming death benefits, employers, and other persons in protecting their rights and obtaining information available under the Workers' Compensation Law. (b) Providing that the employer and the employee agree to participate in the benefit review conference, the ombudsmen shall meet with or otherwise provide information to injured or disabled employees, investigate complaints, and communicate with employers, insurance carriers, and health care providers on behalf of injured or disabled employees. Section 38-9A-3 Regional support councils. (a) Each regional support council shall be composed solely of individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members. Membership shall not exceed 20 members per council, with at least one member to be appointed from each of the affiliated councils, and at least two at-large members who are not members of any community council. A quorum of 40 percent of the membership shall be required to conduct business. Membership shall be distributed equitably throughout the geographic region and shall be representative of the prevalent developmental disabilities. (a)(1) An individual taxpayer who files a state income tax return and is not claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer, a taxpayer subject to the corporate income tax levied by Chapter 18 of Title 40, an Alabama S corporation as defined in Section 40-18-160, or a Subchapter K entity as defined in Section 40-18-1 may claim a credit for a contribution made to a scholarship granting organization. (a) The State Board of Education shall adopt rules regarding the administration of Palliative and End of Life Individual Health Plans in the school setting; provided, however, the board may not propose rules without approval from the task force created pursuant to Section 16-30B-6.
