Section 11-51-187 Examination. A taxpayer that has purchased a business license required under this chapter shall not be subject to more than one business license examination for each business license by or on behalf of the issuing taxing jurisdiction for every three-license-year cycle unless reasonable cause is shown and notice is given to the taxpayer, consistent with Section 40-2A-13, or unless the taxpayer fails or refuses to provide to the taxing jurisdiction a true and correct copy of its federal income tax return for the prior two license years or portions thereof within 14 days after written request has been mailed or personally delivered to it. Section 40-12-307 Calculation of tax rate; distribution of taxes. (a) On or before December 1, 2021, and December 1 of each year thereafter, each county, municipality, or other local taxing authority that levies an ad valorem tax shall provide the department with the ad valorem tax rate needed to calculate the applicable county, municipal, or local taxing authority's millage rate. Section 40-2A-11 Civil penalties levied in addition to other penalties provided by law. (a) Failure to timely file return. Section 11-51-194 Delivery license. (a)(1) Each municipality shall allow the purchase of a delivery license by any business that has no other physical presence within the municipality or its police jurisdiction for the privilege of delivering its merchandise therein. The amount of the delivery license for the business shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Nothing herein shall prohibit a municipality from requiring by ordinance the purchase of a decal by the taxpayer for each delivery vehicle making deliveries within the municipality or its police jurisdiction. Section 32-7A-11 Online insurance verification system - Notification upon inability to verify existing insurance; proof of coverage; penalties. (a)(1) When the department is unable to verify that liability insurance coverage exists for a motor vehicle registered or required to be registered in this state, the department shall send the registrant notice via U.S. mail at the last known address as reflected on the department's motor vehicle registration records.
