Section 45-41A-41.02 Definitions. As used in this part, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) CITY. The City of Opelika, Alabama. (2) CIVIL FINE. The monetary amount assessed by the city pursuant to this part for an adjudication of civil liability for a traffic signal violation, including municipal court costs associated with the infraction. (3) CIVIL VIOLATION. There is hereby created a noncriminal category of law called a civil violation created and existing for the sole purpose of carrying out the terms of this part. (a) A person, as defined in Section 40-12-240, in possession of a motor vehicle that is considered an abandoned motor vehicle may sell the motor vehicle at a public auction.
