Section 41-1-20 Establishment of remittance requirements; applicability; payment procedures. (a) Any state agency may establish a requirement, within its area of administrative responsibility, that every person, corporation or partnership, owing, in connection with an individual transaction consisting of any State of Alabama tax return, fee, report or other document, or any other obligation of indebtedness to the state, an amount of money, as specified in subsection (b) shall pay such tax liability, fee, or obligation to the state no later than the date such payment or remittance of funds is required by law, in funds which are immediately available to the state on the first banking day following the due date of payment. Section 8-17-275 Violations. (a) A manufacturer, wholesale dealer, agent, or any other person or entity who knowingly sells or offers to sell cigarettes, other than through retail sale, in violation of Section 8-17-272, shall be subject to a civil penalty not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) for each pack of the cigarettes sold or offered for sale provided that in no case shall the penalty against a person or entity for that violation exceed one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) during any 30-day period. Section 9-17-176 Assessment. (a) The council shall set the initial assessment at no greater than one-tenth of one cent per gallon of odorized propane. Thereafter, annual assessments shall be sufficient to cover the cost of plans and programs developed by the council. The assessment may not be greater than one-half cent per gallon of odorized propane. In no case may the assessment be raised by more than one-tenth of one cent per gallon of odorized propane annually.
