Section 32-6-253 Construction of provisions; penalty for violation. The provisions of this division shall not affect the registration and licensing of motor vehicles as required by other provisions of the Code of Alabama 1975, but shall be cumulative thereto. Any person violating the provisions of this division or any person who (i) fraudulently gives false or fictitious information in any application for a special license plate, as authorized in this division, (ii) conceals a material fact, or (iii) otherwise commits a fraud in any such application or in the use of any special license plate issued shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor as defined by the Code of Alabama 1975. Section 45-14-82.05 Tag number or bill of sale required for assessment; vehicles from outside Alabama. Before any vehicle can be assessed, the probate judge shall be furnished the tag number presently on the vehicle unless such vehicle is new, in which case the probate judge shall be furnished a bona fide bill of sale from the dealer showing when the vehicle was bought new.
