Section 45-33-242.30 Levy of tax. (a) Upon adoption of a resolution by the Hale County Commission,
the commission may impose on every person, firm, or corporation that sells, stores, delivers,
uses, or otherwise consumes tobacco or tobacco products in Hale County, a county privilege,
license, or excise tax in the following amounts; (1) Seven cents ($0.07) for each package
of cigarettes made of tobacco or any substitute therefor. (2) Seven cents ($0.07) for each
cigar of any description made of tobacco or any substitute therefor, including the cigarette

Section 45-44-244.01 Payment of tax or fee; amount. When a license tax or fee is imposed in
accordance with Section 45-44-244, it shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or follow
any trade, occupation, or profession, as defined in this subpart, within the county, on and
after the law day of such levy, without paying such license taxes or fees for the privilege
of engaging in or following such trade, occupation, or profession. In cases where compensation
is earned as a result of work done or services performed both within and without the county
the license fees required under the ordinance or resolution shall be computed by determining
upon the oath of the employer, or if required by the county director of revenue, upon the
oath of the employee, that percentage of the compensation earned from the portion of the work

Section 45-44-244.31 Authorization to levy tax; payment; amount. In addition to any and all
other taxes or fees heretofore or hereafter levied in Macon County, the Macon County Commission
may levy a payroll or privilege fee upon any person who performs a trade, occupation, or profession
in those areas of the county not subject to an occupation tax on the effective date of the
act adding this language. If any area is not subject to an occupational tax on the effective
date of the act adding this language and the area is annexed into a municipality and becomes
subject to a municipal occupational tax, any payroll or privilege fee levied pursuant to this

Section 11-51-121 Insurance companies - Insurance companies other than fire and marine insurance
companies. (a) No license or privilege tax or other charge for the privilege of doing business
shall be imposed by any municipal corporation upon any insurance company, other than fire

Section 28-4A-4 Privilege and excise taxes levied on brewpub; recordkeeping; wholesaler designee;
exemption from Sections 28-9-3 through 28-9-11. (a) In addition to the licenses provided for
by this chapter and any county or municipal license, there is levied on the brewpub for on-premises
sales of beer brewed by the brewpub licensee the privilege or excise taxes imposed by Sections
28-3-184 and 28-3-190. Every brewpub licensee shall file the tax returns, pay the taxes, and
perform all obligations imposed on wholesalers at the times and places set forth therein.
It shall be unlawful for any brewpub licensee who is required to pay the taxes so imposed

Section 45-32-245 Levy of tax; records and reporting; disposition of funds. (a) In addition
to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied a privilege or license tax in the
amount hereinafter prescribed against every person engaging in Greene County in the business
