(a) The voters in the unincorporated area of Etowah County may authorize the sale of alcoholic beverages within the unincorporated area of the county on Sunday by an election pursuant to this section, in the following manner: The county commission, by resolution, may call an election to determine the sentiment of the voters residing outside the corporate limits of any municipalities within the county, as to whether alcoholic beverages may be legally sold or distributed on Sunday in the unincorporated area of the county as further provided for and regulated by ordinance of the county commission. Section 11-19-8 County planning commission - Creation; composition; qualifications, appointment, terms of office, removal and compensation of members; vacancies. The county commission may, by resolution or ordinance, create a county planning commission for the purpose of enforcing this chapter. Section 45-2-261.01 Appointment of members and personnel of the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Commission. The planning commission shall be composed of nine regular members, each of whom shall be a qualified elector and an actual resident of the county. One and only one regular member of the planning commission may be a qualified elector of the county who resides in the corporate limits of a municipality in the county. All regular members shall be appointed by the Baldwin County Commission for a term of four years.
