Section 11-65-2 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this chapter,
and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, unless the context clearly
indicates otherwise, have the following respective meanings: (1) ALABAMA-BRED. When this term
is used with reference to a horse, it means a horse which is registered in the registry designated
and administered by a commission in accordance with such rules concerning domicile and registration
requirements as may be established by such commission and which is either (i) foaled from
a mare domiciled in the state during the 10-year period beginning with January 1, 1991, or
(ii) sired by an Alabama stallion and foaled from a mare domiciled in the state at any time
after the expiration of such 10-year period. (2) ALABAMA STALLION. A stallion which is standing
in the state at the time he is bred to the dam of an Alabama-bred horse, which is registered

Section 11-92C-2 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words
have the following meanings: (1) APPLICANT. A natural person who files a written application
with the governing body of any authorizing subdivision in accordance with Section 11-92C-3.
(2) AUTHORITY. Any local redevelopment authority organized pursuant to this chapter. (3) AUTHORIZING
RESOLUTION. A resolution adopted by the governing body of any authorizing subdivision in accordance

Section 38-13-2 Definitions. When used in this chapter, the following words shall have
the following meanings: (1) ADULT. An individual 19 years of age and older. (2) ADULT CARE

Section 40-23-199.2 Marketplace facilitators. (a) For the purpose of this Act 2018-539,
the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them: (1) DEPARTMENT. The

Section 11-97-10 Security for payment of bonds; contracts and agreements to secure.
(a) Bonds issued by any corporation may, as its board may deem advisable, be either general
obligations of such corporation or limited obligations payable only out of certain specified
revenues or assets of such corporation; provided, that any corporation may enter into contracts
with the holders of any of its bonds preventing such corporation from thereafter issuing general
obligation bonds or limiting the amount of such bonds that may thereafter be issued. To the

Section 40-18-6 Gain or loss - Basis of property; adjusted basis. (a) Basis (unadjusted)
of property. The basis of property shall be the cost of the property with the following exceptions:
(1) INVENTORY VALUE. If the property should have been included in the last inventory, the
