Section 45-25-240 Election; consolidation of offices; deputies, clerks, and assistants; duties. (a) After September 30, 1997, there shall be a county revenue commissioner in DeKalb County. A commissioner shall be elected at the general election in 1996, and at the general election every six years thereafter, who shall serve for a term of six years beginning on the first day of October next after his or her election, and until his or her successor is elected and has qualified. (a) Any person of whom a driver's license is required, who drives a motor vehicle on a public highway in this state without first having complied with this article or the rules and regulations promulgated hereunder shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100), to be fixed in the discretion of the judge trying the case.
