Section 24-1-63 Composition of authority; qualifications, appointment, term of office, and
compensation of housing commissioners; officers and employees of authority; delegation of
powers and duties by authority. An authority shall consist of five housing commissioners appointed
by the county commission, and the county commission shall designate the first chairman. None
of the housing commissioners may be county officials or county employees. The housing commissioners
who are first appointed shall be designated by the county commission to serve for terms of
one, two, three, four, and five years, respectively, from the date of their appointment. Thereafter,
the term of office shall be five years. A housing commissioner shall hold office until his
successor has been appointed and has qualified. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired

Section 40-5-3 Bonds. Before assuming office the tax collector must execute a bond in duplicate
with a surety company authorized to do business in Alabama, payable to the State of Alabama,
in an amount to be determined for every county by the Comptroller. The amount of the bond
for each tax collector will be set at the beginning of his elected or appointed term for the
duration of such term. A new bond for an additional amount may be required whenever, in the
judgment of the Comptroller, the public welfare demands such action. The amount of the bond
will be determined by the use of the following table based on a percentage of the total annual

Section 45-8-120.17 Petition for review of board action. Any party, including the county commission
and county appointing authorities, aggrieved by a final action of the board, shall be entitled
to a review of the action by filing a petition in the Circuit Court of Calhoun County within
30 days after the action is taken. Upon the filing of any petition, notice shall also be served
upon the chairperson of the board by the petitioner. The petitioner shall be heard by the
court at the earliest practical date. Review by the court shall be without a jury and confined
to the record of the board action. The record shall include transcripts or other documentation

following expense allowances in response to a resolution adopted by the County Commission

Section 41-9-802 Headquarters; meetings; quorum; chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, and treasurer;
