Section 40-12-10 License inspectors generally; when taxes due and payable; collection and distribution
of penalties and citation fees on delinquent licenses. (a) The county commission of each county
is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint a license inspector. (b) It shall be the duty
of the license inspector to scrutinize the records and stubs kept in the office of the probate
judge and also to examine the license records of each city or town located in the county or

Section 45-7-240 Establishment of county revenue commissioner; powers and duties. (a) This
section shall apply only in Butler County. (b) The purpose of this section is to conserve
revenue and promote the public convenience in the county by consolidating the office of tax
assessor and the office of tax collector into one county office designated as the office of

judge of probate shall examine said petition and also the tax books of his county; and, if
the facts set forth in the petition are such as to entitle the petitioner to the refunding

Section 11-70A-2 Initiation and notice of action. (a) Any Class 3 municipality may initiate
an expedited quiet title and foreclosure action under this section against a parcel of tax
sale property located within its municipal limits and purchased by the municipality from the

Cherokee County Courthouse the permanent office of license commissioner. The duties and responsibilities

Section 45-26-244.07 Charge for collection. (a) The department shall charge Elmore County for
collecting the tax levied under this subpart in an amount or percentage of total collections
as may be agreed upon by the commissioner and the Elmore County Commission. The charge shall
not exceed five percent of the total amount of the tax collected in the county. The charge
may be deducted each month from the gross revenues from the tax before certification of the
