Section 22-18-50 Enactment and text of Emergency Medical Services Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact. The Emergency Medical Services Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in form substantially as follows: SECTION 1. PURPOSE In order to protect the public through verification of competency and ensure accountability for patient care related activities all states license emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced EMTs and paramedics. This Compact is intended to facilitate the day to day movement of EMS personnel across state boundaries in the performance of their EMS duties as assigned by an appropriate authority and authorize state EMS offices to afford immediate legal recognition to EMS personnel licensed in a member state. Section 45-37-244.01 Automobile rental tax. (a) In Jefferson County, in addition to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied an additional privilege or license tax, in the amount hereinafter prescribed against any person, organization, or other entity engaging or continuing in the county in the business of leasing or renting any passenger automotive vehicle, the duration of the lease being not more than one year. The amount of the taxes levied by this section shall be equal to three percent of the gross proceeds derived by the lessor from the lease or rental of such passenger automotive vehicle for not more than one year. Section 25-4-51 Rates of contributions, etc., by employers. (a) Contributions. Except as hereinafter provided and subject to the provisions of Section 25-4-54, every employer shall pay contributions, or payments in lieu of contributions, equal to the percentages of wages payable or paid as hereinafter set out, with respect to employment by him. (a) There are exempted from the provisions of this division and from the computation of the amount of the tax levied, assessed, or payable under this division the following: (1) The gross proceeds of the sales of lubricating oil and gasoline as defined in Sections 40-17-30 and 40-17-170 and the gross proceeds from those sales of lubricating oil destined for out-of-state use which are transacted in a manner whereby an out-of-state purchaser takes delivery of such oil at a distributor's plant within this state and transports it out-of-state, which are otherwise taxed. Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. Any natural person, partnership, company, firm, corporation, association, limited liability company, cooperative, or other legal entity licensed by the Alabama State Licensing Board for General Contractors. Section 27-29-10 Violations and penalties; criminal proceedings. (a) Any insurer failing, without just cause, to file any registration statement as required in this chapter shall be required, after notice and hearing, to pay a penalty of up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each day's delay, to be recovered by the commissioner and the penalty so recovered shall be paid into the state General Fund. The maximum penalty under this section is fifty thousand dollars ($50,000). Section 27-30-22 Annual statement; furnishing of other information. (a) Each mutual aid association shall, annually on or before March 1, file with the commissioner a full and true statement of its financial condition, transactions, and affairs as of the December 31 preceding. The statement shall be in such general form and content as is prescribed or approved by the commissioner and shall be reasonably adapted to the plans of operation of such associations.
