Section 34-9-5 Penalties. Any person who shall engage in the practice of dentistry across state
lines or practice dentistry or dental hygiene in this state within the meaning of this chapter
without having first obtained from the board a license and an annual registration certificate,
when the certificate is required by this chapter, or who violates this chapter, or who willfully
violates any published rule or regulation of the board, or who does any act described in this
chapter as unlawful, the penalty for which is not herein specifically provided, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than five thousand
dollars ($5,000) for each offense, to be fixed by the court trying the case, and in addition
thereto may be, in the discretion of the court, sentenced to hard labor for the county for

Section 8-17-216 Permits for sale, use, etc., of special fireworks for public displays. (a)
Nothing in this article shall be construed as applying to the shipping, sale, possession,
and use of special fireworks for public displays by holders of a permit for a public display
to be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations governing this type of fireworks
by the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms division of the United States Treasury Department, and
their requirements met and any permit or license required by them secured before application
for a state display permit is made. (b) Application for a state permit for public display
of special fireworks must be made in writing to the State Fire Marshal at least 10 days before
the display date. The State Fire Marshal may accept an application for a state permit for
public display of special fireworks less than 10 days before the display date if accompanied

Section 31-13-3 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have
the following meanings: (1) ALIEN. Any person who is not a citizen or national of the United
States, as described in 8 U.S.C. § 1101, et seq., and any amendments thereto. (2) BUSINESS

Section 34-1A-5 Licenses - Issuance; fees; suspension or revocation; nonresident license; display;
written service contracts; confidential information. (a) The board shall issue licenses authorized
by this chapter to all qualified individuals in accordance with rules or regulations established
by the board. (b)(1) Effective beginning January 1, 2014, the license fee for a two-year period
as set by the board shall not exceed three hundred dollars ($300) for an individual and one
thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) for a business entity. (2) Effective for the license
year beginning January 1, 2014, and thereafter, the board may provide for the licenses to
be renewed on a staggered basis as determined by rule of the board and, in order to stagger
the license renewals, may issue the license for less than a two-year period. The amount of
