Section 32-9-5 Penalties. The operation of any truck, semitrailer truck, or trailer in violation
of any section of this chapter or of the terms of any permit issued under this chapter, shall
constitute a misdemeanor, and the owner thereof, if such violation was with his or her knowledge
or consent, and the operator thereof shall, on conviction, be fined not less than $100.00

Section 45-24A-32.05 Jurisdiction of court; adjudicative hearing; liability; evidence and procedure.
(a) The municipal court is vested with the power and jurisdiction to hear and adjudicate the
civil violations provided for in this part, and to issue orders imposing the civil penalties
and costs set out in this part. (b) A person who receives a notice of violation may contest
the imposition of the civil penalty by submitting a request for a hearing on the adjudication
of the civil violation, in writing, within 15 days of the 10th day after the date the notice
of violation is mailed. Upon receipt of a timely request, the city shall notify the person
of the date and time of the adjudicative hearing. (c) Failure to pay a civil penalty or to

Section 27-10-37 Penalty for violation of article. (a) Any person who in this state represents
or aids a nonadmitted insurer in willful violation of the provisions of this surplus lines
insurance law shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a misdemeanor and be subject to
a fine not in excess of $1,000.00 or imprisonment for not more than one year, or by both such

Section 45-36-80.04 Additional court cost in domestic violence cases. (a) In addition to all
other costs and charges in circuit, district, and municipal court cases in Jackson County,
there shall be levied and assessed by the clerk of the court a court cost of thirty-five dollars

Section 15-20A-5 Sex offenses. For the purposes of this chapter, a sex offense includes any
of the following offenses: (1) Rape in the first degree, as provided by Section 13A-6-61.
