Section 22-51-11 Powers of corporation. Any corporation organized pursuant to the provisions
of this chapter, is hereby authorized and empowered to exercise the following powers in addition
to others granted in this chapter: (1) To construct and maintain facilities as defined in
Section 22-51-4; (2) To cooperate and contract with the State Board of Health for the
construction of such facilities; (3) To cooperate and contract with the Alabama Department
of Mental Health for the construction, operation and maintenance of such facilities and for
the operation and execution of such programs as it has elected to implement; (4) To take over

Section 11-50A-17 Contracts for use of projects; purchase of electric power; payment
of charges; indemnity; enforcement of performance. (a) Any municipality, if authorized by
resolution or ordinance of its governing body, may contract with the authority for the payment
of any rates, tolls, fees, and other charges prescribed in this section and Section
11-50A-18 by the authority for the output, capacity, use or service by the municipality of

Section 38-3-8 Powers and responsibilities of the department. The Department of Senior
Services shall: (1) Be the designated state agency to administer programs of the federal government
relating to the aged, requiring action within the state, that are not the specific responsibility
