Section 22-12A-3 Plan to reduce infant mortality and handicapping conditions; procedure, contents, etc. The Bureau of Maternal and Child Health under the direction of the State Board of Health shall, in coordination with the State Health Planning and Development Agency, the State Health Coordinating Council, the Alabama Council on Maternal and Infant Health and the regional and State Perinatal Advisory Committees, annually prepare a plan, consistent with the legislative intent of Section 22-12A-2, to reduce infant mortality and handicapping conditions to be presented to legislative health and finance committees prior to each regular session of the Legislature. (a) A petition for adoption shall be filed with the clerk of the court within 30 days after the minor is placed with the prospective adoptive parent or parents for purposes of adoption unless the minor is in custody of the Department of Human Resources or a licensed child placing agency except that a petition for good cause shown may be filed beyond the 30-day period. (a) The Alabama Department of Energy is authorized to operate a treatment, storage or disposal site for low-level radioactive wastes pursuant to any license issued by the Radiation Control Agency. Section 22-32-5 Radiation Safety Fund; licensing and inspection fees; bond of contractor-leasor; perpetual care fund; operating fund; compact commission fund; royalty fees; appropriation.
