Section 32-6-591 Distribution of proceeds. The net proceeds of the additional revenues derived from sales of the distinctive plates, less administrative costs including the costs of production incurred by the Revenue Department in producing the plates, shall be distributed by each judge of probate or license commissioner to the state Comptroller. The first two thousand dollars ($2,000) received by the state Comptroller in the fiscal year ending September 30, 1998, shall be used to satisfy the appropriation specified in Section 4 of Act 97-546. Thereafter, the state Comptroller shall distribute the proceeds monthly to the Sistas Can Survive Coalition for the purpose of providing free mammograms to underserved persons through the Mammogram for Life Campaign. Section 32-6-64.1 Manufacture and distribution of license plates by third party; funding. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, the Department of Revenue may contract with a third party to manufacture and distribute license plates and validation decals. (b) The amount distributed prior to April 8, 2014, to the Department of Corrections relating to license plates and decals for each fiscal year shall not be reduced except by the amount of the cost of material, production, and distribution of license plates which would have been incurred if the plates were produced by the Department of Corrections. Section 36-18-32 DNA Database Fund. (a) There is hereby established a special fund to be known as the Alabama DNA Database Fund. (b) The fund shall be placed under the management or administration of the Director of the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for the exclusive purposes of implementing the provisions of this article.
