Section 38-4-4 Reduction, cancellation or continuance of assistance grant when recipient becomes possessed of income or resources. (a) If at any time the recipient of public assistance, the husband or wife of such recipient, or the cohabiting partner of the recipient, as provided by rules promulgated by the Department of Human Resources, shall become possessed of any income or resources in excess of that owned or being received at the date of the application, it shall be the duty of the recipient immediately to notify the county department of the facts in the case. The county department, upon the notification or upon otherwise learning the facts, shall, after investigation, continue, reduce or cancel the amount of the grant as the facts may warrant. Its action in this respect shall be subject to appeal and review as provided in this chapter. (a) The following persons have standing to file a sworn petition for a protection order under this chapter as a plaintiff: (1) A person who is at least 18 years old or is otherwise emancipated and is the victim of abuse, as defined in Section 30-5-2, or has reasonable cause to believe he or she is in imminent danger of becoming the victim of any act of abuse. Section 31-8-14 Application for reinstatement to pension roll. Any widow whose name has been dropped from the pension rolls of this state since January 1, 1922, and who is a bona fide resident citizen of this state at the time of making application for restoration of her name to the pension rolls of the state may have her name restored to the pension roll of this state by making application before the county department of human resources of the county of her residence, setting forth in the application the name of the county in which she was residing at the time her name was stricken from the pension roll, and the names of the places, counties and states where she has resided since her name was dropped from the pension roll of Alabama, such application to be supported by affidavit of the applicant and proof of two witnesses as to her bona fide residence in this state.
