Section 41-29-331 Definitions. For the purposes of this division, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) APPRENTICE. A worker who is at least 16 years of age, except where a higher minimum age standard is otherwise fixed by law, who is employed to learn an apprenticeable occupation as provided in 29 C.F.R. Part 29.4. (2) APPRENTICESHIP AGREEMENT. A written agreement between an apprentice and either the apprenticeship program sponsor, or an apprenticeship committee acting as agent for the apprenticeship program sponsor or sponsors, which contains the terms and conditions of the employment and training of the apprentice in conformance with 29 C.F.R., Subtitle A, Part 29 and Section 40-18-421. (3) APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM. Section 22-37A-6 Designating Safe State as accreditation agency; powers of Safe State. (a) Safe State, a division of the University of Alabama, is designated as the state accreditation agency for lead hazard training. (b) Subject to the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act, Safe State shall establish a program to review and accredit lead training courses in accordance with Title IV of the Federal Toxic Substances Control Act. Section 34-14A-20 Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund; Alabama Construction Trade Advisory Council; applications for funding; program guidelines. (a) The Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund is established in the State Treasury. The fund shall be comprised of federal, state, and private funding through direct budgetary funding and grants for the expansion of construction trade education.
