Section 32-7-36 Exceptions. This chapter shall not apply with respect to any motor vehicle owned by the United States, this state or any political subdivision of this state or any municipality therein; nor, except for Sections 32-7-5 and 32-7-28, with respect to any motor vehicle which is subject to the supervision and regulation of the Alabama Public Service Commission which have filed with such commission a bond or insurance policy, the liability under which is not less than that required of the operator of a motor vehicle under the terms of this chapter. Section 32-9A-2 Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; in-service training by law enforcement officers. (a)(1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b), no person may operate a commercial motor vehicle in this state, or fail to maintain required records or reports, in violation of the federal motor carrier safety regulations as prescribed by the U.S. Department of Transportation, 49 C.F.R.
