Section 45-47-250 Definitions. When used in this article, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) AUTHORITY. The Marion County Public Water Authority, a public corporation organized pursuant to this article. (2) BOARD. The Board of Directors of the Marion County Public Water Authority. (3) BONDS. Bonds, notes, and certificates representing an obligation to pay money. (4) CONCISE LEGAL DESCRIPTION. Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama Department of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds, less any refunds, from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost of collection. The department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration of the excise tax provided for in this article. (a) The provisions of this section shall be operative only during the existence of a state of emergency, referred to hereinafter as one of the states of emergency defined in Section 31-9-3.
