Section 41-14A-4 Establishment of Security for Alabama Funds Enhancement Program; powers and duties of the State Treasurer relating to the program; tax exemption for funds maintained by State Treasurer pursuant to chapter. There is hereby created the Security for Alabama Funds Enhancement (SAFE) Program. The SAFE Program shall be administered by the State Treasurer in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and rules, regulations, and guidelines established by the board of directors of the SAFE Program pursuant to Section 41-14A-6. The facilities and resources of the State Treasurer's office shall be used and employed in the administration of the SAFE Program including the keeping of records and the management of funds and accounts. (a) In addition to all other appropriations and apportionments of public school money now provided by law and made available for public schools there shall be apportioned and paid to local boards of education from the Foundation Program Fund, the amounts to be determined as hereinafter provided and in accordance with regulations of the State Board of Education.
