Section 16-6D-9 Tax credit claims; administrative accountability; verification of requirements;
rules and procedures. (a)(1) An individual taxpayer who files a state income tax return and
is not claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer, a taxpayer subject to the corporate income
tax levied by Chapter 18 of Title 40, an Alabama S corporation as defined in Section 40-18-160,
or a Subchapter K entity as defined in Section 40-18-1 may claim a credit for a contribution
made to a scholarship granting organization. If the credit is claimed by an Alabama S corporation
or Subchapter K entity, the credit shall pass through to and may be claimed by any taxpayer
eligible to claim a credit under this subdivision who is a shareholder, partner, or member
thereof, based on the taxpayer's pro rata or distributive share, respectively, of the credit.
(2) The tax credit may be claimed by an individual taxpayer or a married couple filing jointly

Section 40-9F-36 Availability of tax credits after December 31, 2022. The tax credits authorized
by this article for the substantial rehabilitation of qualified structures shall not be available
to owners of qualified structures that submit an application and rehabilitation plan after

Section 40-23-196 Refund or credit of excess taxes paid. (a) Any taxpayer who pays a simplified
sellers use tax through this program that is higher than the actual state and local sales
or use tax levied in the locality where the sale was delivered may file for a refund or credit
of the excess amount paid to the eligible seller participating in the program. A business
taxpayer who has a registered consumer use tax account with the department may claim credit
for the overpayment of simplified use tax on their consumer use tax return in a manner prescribed

Section 41-7A-46 Tax exemptions - Application; issuance of certificates; reporting requirements.
(a) A qualified production company that intends to produce all or any part of a qualified
production project in Alabama and desires to be exempted from the payment of state sales,
use, and lodging taxes levied pursuant to Sections 40-23-2, 40-23-61, and 40-26-1, respectively,
shall provide an estimate of total expenditures expected to be made in Alabama in connection
with the production project. The estimate of expenditures shall be filed with the office before
the commencement of the project in Alabama. (b) At the time the qualified production company
provides the estimate of expenditures to the department, it also shall designate a member
or representative of the company to work with the office and the department on reporting of
