Section 16-60-350 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following words shall have the following meanings: (1) CAREER-TECHNICAL DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM. A program that allows eligible high school students to enroll in college-level career technical education courses, as designed by the Chancellor of the Department of Postsecondary Education, that are offered at Alabama Community College System institutions and allows such enrolled students to concurrently earn high school and college credit in courses toward a certificate or degree, or both, and which prepares them to enter the workforce in high skill, high wage, or high demand occupations. (2) CONTRIBUTION. A donation of cash. (3) ELIGIBLE STUDENT. A high school student who meets the eligibility requirements and standards as prescribed by State Board of Education policy to enroll for Career-Technical Dual Enrollment Program courses. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. By establishing an independent Alabama Tax Tribunal within the executive branch of government, this chapter provides taxpayers with a means of resolving controversies that insures both the appearance and the reality of due process and fundamental fairness. Section 40-12-253 Ad valorem taxation of motor vehicles. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees. (a) Unless otherwise provided for in this subsection, sales of motor fuel to the following are exempt from the tax levied by subsection (a) of Section 40-17-325 and shall not be paid at the rack: (1) All motor fuel exported from this state for which proof of export is available in the form of a terminal issued destination state shipping document that is a. exported by a supplier who is licensed in the destination state or b. is sold by a supplier to a licensed exporter for immediate export to a state for which the applicable destination state motor fuel excise tax has been collected by the supplier who is licensed to remit the tax to the destination state.
