Section 36-6-8 Salaries of constitutional officers, persons not covered by Merit System and persons whose salary not set by Governor. The salary or compensation of elected constitutional officers and other state officers and employees or persons whose state salary or compensation, or portion thereof, is not established pursuant to the Merit System or pursuant to Section 36-6-6 shall continue at the same rate or in the same amount as that established pursuant to law prior to the effective date of this code until changed by statute.
