Section 29-4-2 Salary increase; schedule of rates revision; employees of the state.
(a) Any salary increase provided for state employees who are listed in the classified and
unclassified service of the State of Alabama as defined in Section 36-26-10, whether
provided for by legislative action, by action of the State Personnel Board, or by rules of
the State Personnel Department, shall apply with equal force to all legislative personnel,
officers, and employees, including, but not limited to, Legislative Reference Service personnel.
Legislative personnel as herein referred to, who are employed on a full-time basis and such
part-time employees with two or more years of continuous service, shall be entitled to the
same number of annual increases as those provided for employees in the classified and unclassified
service, and shall further be entitled to exceptional step raises as provided for by law or
rules of the State Personnel Department and Merit System when approved by the appointing...

Section 36-15-62 Appointment of investigators for the office of the Attorney General
- Compensation. (a) The chief investigator and other investigators appointed pursuant to this
article shall be compensated at a rate to be set by the Attorney General. In setting the rate
of compensation the Attorney General may take into consideration that amount paid to other
law enforcement officers of the State of Alabama including, but not limited to, those officers
of corresponding duties, lengths of service, and responsibilities in the Alabama Department

governing body, is hereby authorized to employ such clerks, secretaries, and clerical assistants

Section 36-27-50 Temporary legislative employees covered by retirement system and health
insurance plan; limitations; procedure; purchase of prior service. (a) Notwithstanding any
provision of this title to the contrary, any state employee who has worked during at least
five regular sessions of the Legislature since 1971 or any employee who has worked during
five consecutive regular sessions of the Legislature and who is termed "temporary employee"
