Section 34-21A-5 Officers, executive director, and administration of the board. (a) At its annual organizational meeting, the board shall elect from its members a chair, vice-chair, and a secretary/treasurer for a one-year term of office. No board member shall serve more than three consecutive one-year terms in any one office. The chair shall exercise general supervision of the board's affairs, preside at all meetings, appoint committees, and perform all duties pertaining to the office. The vice-chair, in the absence of the chair, shall perform the duties of the chair. The secretary/treasurer shall perform duties as designated by the board. (a) The board shall be assisted in formulating rules and policy pertaining to emergency medical services by the State Emergency Medical Control Committee (SEMCC).
