Section 36-27-21.2 Increase in maximum retirement allowance of certain state, etc., employees - 1980 cost-of-living increase. (a) There is hereby provided, commencing October 1, 1980, to any person retired prior to October 1, 1979, under the Teachers' Retirement System or Employees' Retirement System of Alabama and who is receiving a retirement allowance therefrom, a cost-of-living increase in his maximum retirement allowance as follows: (1) If such person retired prior to October 1, 1963, a 15 percent increase in his maximum retirement allowance; provided, that he shall receive an increase of not less than $30.00, nor more than $60.00 per month; and provided further that, if such person retired under the provisions of Section 36-27-7 and/or Section 36-27-7.1, he shall receive an increase of not less than $15.00, nor more than $40.00, per month. Section 45-37A-51.08 Retroactive Deferred Retirement Option Plan. (a) A member who retires at least 90 days following the effective date of this section, who has then completed at least 26 years, but less than 30 years, of credited service, and who is otherwise entitled to retire and receive a monthly retirement allowance under the supplemental pension system, shall have the opportunity to elect a Back DROP plan.
