Section 11-43-185 Agreements for furnishing by State Personnel Department of services and facilities for administration of merit systems for law enforcement officers of municipalities - Classification of municipal law enforcement officers and applicability of state Merit System rules and regulations. Each law enforcement officer in the civil service of any municipality at the time such municipality enters into such an agreement with the state Director of Personnel under the provisions of this article shall, upon the effective date of such agreement, be classified to the nearest classification of their present work assignment and shall thereafter be governed by the state Merit System rules and regulations, the same as any other law enforcement officer in the service of the state. (a) The Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency shall implement a system of active and passive electronic monitoring that identifies the location of a monitored person and that can produce upon request reports or records of the person's presence near or within a crime scene or prohibited area, the person's departure from specified geographic limitations, or curfew violations by the offender. Section 16-25-61 Cost-of-living increase to certain retirees participating under Section 36-27-6.
