Section 45-24A-30 Board of education. (a) If the majority of electors voting pursuant to Section 1 of the act from which this section is derived, vote in favor of changing to an elected board, an elected board of education for the City of Selma shall be established. (a)(1) There is established an advisory committee to be known as the Cahawba Advisory Committee, composed of 16 members, 15 of whom shall be appointed by the Governor. (a) Employees of the board of health, upon termination of such employment after 10 years of actual service to the board of health, shall have the option to leave in the system fund all contributions made by such terminated employee and receive a monthly retirement benefit beginning at age 60, in the amount equal to two percent of such employee's monthly final average salary multiplied by his or her years of credited service.
