Section 45-29-140 Definitions. When used in this article, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) AUTHORITY. The Fayette County Water Coordinating and Fire Prevention Authority, a public corporation organized pursuant to this article. (2) BOARD. The Board of Directors of the Fayette County Water Coordinating and Fire Prevention Authority. (4) CONCISE LEGAL DESCRIPTION. Section 45-37A-51.222 Participants vesting. (a) (1) All participants who are participants before July 1, 2017, shall vest at five years of credited service. Section 45-37A-51.224 Involuntary retirement. (a) In the event a participant shall be involuntarily retired after having completed 20 or more years of credited service prior to attaining the age of 60 years, such participant shall be entitled to a monthly retirement benefit equal to the product of the final average salary multiplied by the applicable percentage rate determined at the date of termination, multiplied by such participant's years of credited service. (a) If a landowner, whose property has not previously been assessed a fee for the public improvement of sanitary sewers or the sanitary sewer system, requests to be connected to the existing sanitary sewer after the term of a public improvement ordinance relating to that improvement has expired, the governing body of any city or town shall, if the improvement has sufficient capacity to add the user, assess a charge against the property to be drained, served, or benefitted by the sanitary sewers or sanitary sewer system to the extent of the increased value to the property by reason of the special benefit derived from the connection.
